21-Day Itinerary For The Most Fun In Bali!

By Sam Lee, 2025.

Prepare yourself for breathtaking landscapes, vibrant culture, and experiences that'll leave a smile on your face for months. Yes, I actually guarantee this.😃

Planning the perfect trip may seem monumental, but don't worry. I've crafted the ultimate 21-day or 3-week itinerary to help you uncover Bali's best sights and experiences (and skip the worst). This itinerary is perfect for first-timers to Bali or if you haven't seen much of the Island on previous visits.

Ubud is the perfect cultural retreat in Bali - Travel Bliss

1-3—

Ubud: The Cultural Heart

Fly into Denpasar and head straight up to Ubud, the Island's cultural center. Picture verdant rice terraces, ancient temples, and tranquil yoga spots.

Spend your first day wandering through the town, browsing the markets, and soaking up its unique atmosphere. Visit Monkey Forest (but don’t get too close to the monkeys; they’re not cute when they’re stealing your stuff). If you have time, take a puppy yoga class for some cuteness overload.

On the second day, head to some of Bali's best attractions on this day trip. Stop at the Tukad Cepung, Kanto Lampo, and Tibumana Waterfalls, marvel at Tirta Empul Temple, and see Tegalalang Rice Terrace.

Day three is all about getting the best views in Bali with an early-morning hike up Mount Batur volcano, followed by breakfast. An unforgettable sunrise will greet you at the top! Head home, swim in your pool, rest your sore muscles, and indulge in a fantastic evening meal.

4-6—

Uluwatu: Beach & Cliffside Paradise

For days four to six, make your way south to Uluwatu for amazing ocean vistas and sunsets that will rock your world. Chill and absorb the beauty of the dramatic cliffs. Dive into Uluwatu's lively night scene and indulge in the local cuisine.

If you’re looking for something to do, you can learn how to surf or how to make jewelry — both are great experiences. The quad-bike tour is also pretty epic!

The Uluwatu Temple experience is very popular. I haven’t done it, but others rave about it. Check out availability here:

Canggu: Surfing Haven

On days seven to nine, you’ll get a very relaxed surf town of Canggu. Spend your days riding the waves and basking in the sun on Bali's premier surf beaches. Stroll through the local shops and cafes and soak in the easygoing beach atmosphere.

Munduk is a beautiful destination in north bali - Travel Bliss

10-12—

Munduk: Tranquil Mountain Village

Escape the hustle and bustle and discover the serene beauty of Munduk, surrounded by lush jungles on days ten to twelve. Explore local hiking trails and waterfalls, and take in the breathtaking scenery. Immerse yourself in the local culture and experience the true spirit of Bali's highlands. Visit the Gili Islands for ultimate relaxation - Travel Bliss

19-21—

Gili Islands: Tropical Escape

Wrap up your holiday with a trip to the idyllic Gili Islands for a taste of tropical bliss. Spend your days snorkeling in crystal-clear waters (expect to meet a turtle or two), lounging on pristine beaches, or exploring the vibrant local markets.

Take time to bike around the islands — forget cars; transport is all about two wheels. When the sun sets, sip on a cocktail while listening to live music and dancing barefoot in the sand.

Looking to find your zen? Take a yoga retreat that lets you stretch it out with the ocean as your backdrop. It’s so much fun — don’t blame me if you never want to leave.

And that’s a wrap. What do you think? Could this be your perfect 21 days in Bali?
