Oslo Nature Walks & Island Hopping
Don’t underestimate Norway’s beauty. Uncover three gorgeous islands in Oslo's fjords on this half-day private walking and ferry tour. I’ve trekked these islands many times over, and they never get boring. Get ready to love quaint villages, dramatic sea cliffs, historic landmarks, and forests that seem straight out of a fairytale.
Summer bonus: Picnic on a secluded beach—BYO lunch or grab something en route.
Pro tip: Bring your swimsuit and towel for a (refreshing!) dip. Wear comfy shoes—those hiking paths can be a doozy! This tour books out fast, so don’t hesitate.

Central Oslo Urban Packraft Tour Down Akerselva River
If you want an active way to see Oslo while respecting nature, try this pack-rafting tour on Akerselva. It's perfect for beginners of any age or fitness level.
You’ll navigate through trendy Grunerlokka, famous for its bridges and street art, and hear about Akerselva's history. Next, you'll paddle through Grønland and a 500-meter tunnel under Oslo Central Station (yes, you’ll go through!). Emerging into the light, you'll explore Bjorvika, home to the Munch Museum (pronounced “Munk”) and the Oslo Opera House.
It’s such an easy and fun activity—well worth considering during your trip to Oslo. Pro tip: Book well in advance and dress appropriately.

Oslo: Scenic Forest Hike with Dog & Local Guide
Trekking through the woods with your furry friend is a classic Norwegian activity. Feel like a local and explore Gjersjøen with an expert guide, likely Margarita or Ingunn, both of whom are fantastic. Gjersjøen offers peace and natural beauty, featuring lush forests, clear waters, and stunning mountains.
This hike is easy by Norwegian standards and suitable for most. You'll gradually climb to a scenic viewpoint at 153 meters above sea level and then continue uphill for more breathtaking vistas.
After soaking in the sights, you’ll descend to a calm lake for a well-deserved breather. It’s a loop trail that will take you back to a train station, which will zoom you back into the city.
If you’re really sporty and want a tour guide (with a furry friend, of course) who will throw in some yoga before your trek, then this local tour might be just for you. I haven’t done this experience, but it’s on my list!

Oslo Highlights Bike Tour
I love biking around Oslo (honestly, cycling through all of Scandinavia is a blast). This tour is a chill three-hour ride through Oslo’s historic streets and hot spots like the Aker Brygge shipyard, Akerhus Castle, and the Royal Palace. You’ll hit all the must-sees and some secret gems only locals know. Plus, you’ll get to kick back in Frognerparken and check out the famous Vigeland sculptures (pictured above). Trust me, you’ll be pretty glad you didn’t hop on that touristy tour bus!
Oops…a few more!
Before I wrap up…here are two more awesome activities for inspiration!
That’s a wrap!
I always have a crazy good time when I visit Oslo; I hope you have a great time, too. I’m pretty sure you’ll leave Oslo feeling great with a lot of stories to tell. 🌿🌎💚
